I came to the idea of composing this set of studies because I wanted to add some modern sounding pieces to educational guitar repertoire.

I also wanted to keep them simple, yet interesting for young people.

Minimal style is great for both tasks. Although the style here is not entirely minimal. Some of the studies are more rhythmical and repetitive, some are more neo-calssical and nostalgic in character.

Preludes is quite a bold attempt to arrange some great Baroque and Romantic music for guitar. My aim was not only to create playable transcriptions, but to approach them creatively while remaining faithful to the character and musical essence of the original compositions.
